Construction Quality Manager

to join our diverse and inclusive team. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the high standard and reliability of our product.

The AMERs East Construction Quality Manager is responsible for implementation of the construction quality program across all Microsoft sites.

They will utilize industry best practices and lessons learned to implement a quality management program to ensure site teams adhere to project parameters and meet the highest standards of performance, functionality, and safety.

The AMERs East Construction Quality Manager will collaborate with our construction, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure that our quality tools and processes fit the needs of the business and are continuously improved to deliver best in class performance on our Data Center build projects.

The AMERs East Construction Quality Manager reports directly to the AMERs East Construction Quality Director and works across the regions to ensure consistency and continuous improvement in the QAQC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) program.

Responsibilities

Accountability

Responsible for Leadership of Safety, Quality Programs (including Quality Assurance and Quality Control –QA/QC Management Programs) and predictable delivery to meet the business need date and cost expectations.

Responsible for leading quality project delivery across multiple Regions, campuses and oversight of project teams on those projects

Promote collaboration with all partners and stakeholders in support of the construction project delivery at the expectations of Quality Assurance and Quality Control, with indicators to show performance within KPI expectations

Provide oversight of the Regional and Sub-Regional Quality Managers within the AMERs East Portfolio and overall team to ensure that the projects are delivered to Quality Expectations

Business Processes

Responsible for Leadership across multiple regions and campuses for Safety, Quality and predictable delivery to meet the business need date

Create and maintain best practices to identify and incorporate high quality delivery solutions.

Hold General Contractors and vendor quality performance at the highest levels of Quality per the Contract

Drive deployment of Quality Programs and solutions that can be socialized across projects.

Facilitate decision-making to drive timely solutions, schedules, and manage change as required.

Apply influence, strategies, and negotiation skills to identify options and recommend solutions to meet project delivery quality expectations.

Communication

Provide clarity in communications for the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program

Regularly reviews cost and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics, invoices, process/policy communications to client partners.

Coordinate meetings and activities of quality performance and integration of lessons learned.

Report Regional Quality Performance to established indicators

Manage Regional compliance with quality requirements per the contracts

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

4+ years of experience in managing quality programs on large scale construction programs, construction quality manager, commissioning expertise, quality control testing, preferably in data center, semiconductor, oil-gas, bio-pharmaceutical construction or other industrial construction reliant on specific quality installation practices and adherence.

4+ years experience using Microsoft 360 Suite, BIM (building information modeling), Bluebeam, and construction software tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in using data analytics and internal reporting tools, such as PowerBI, Compass Cx and other statistical inference tools. Analytical mindset: Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.

Detail-oriented: Meticulous attention to specification and governing standards detail and installation compliance with a commitment to delivering high-quality results. This includes auditing contractor certifications.

Technical mastery of continuous/process improvement methodologies such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control), Lean, DFSS/process design, process management and change management.

Certifications in quality control and testing are preferred. CQM certificate from US (UNITED STATES) Army Corp of Engineers, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 30,

Knowledge of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), 8D or other structured problem-solving methodology

Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) analysis and Incident Support Operations (ISO) 9000 experience. Altered Structured Query (ASQ) certification, Construction Quality Management (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

Experience managing a structured quality system.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
