About the Position
Under the ownership of Blackstone and Vista Equity Partners, we are looking to expand our M&A capability and accelerate inorganic growth.
As an M&A Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Corporate Development team through all phases of the merger, acquisition, investment process, and integration. This role involves conducting financial analysis, market research, and analysis on potential acquisition opportunities as well as managing the transaction and integration processes. You will assist in creating financial models, developing valuation scenarios, and preparing presentations for senior leadership.
Financial Analysis and Valuation:
Perform detailed financial modeling and valuation analysis (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) to assess acquisition targets.Analyze and interpret financial statements, cash flows, and business performance metrics.Support scenario planning and forecasting for potential transactions.Market Research and Opportunity Identification:
Conduct research on industries, companies, and markets to identify potential M&A targets.Analyze competitive landscapes and emerging trends to identify strategic opportunities.Due Diligence:
Assist in the coordination and execution of due diligence processes, including reviewing financial, legal, and operational aspects of potential acquisitions.Gather and analyze relevant data, working closely with internal teams and external advisors (legal, financial, and technical consultants).Transaction Support:
Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda, pitch books, and presentations for internal decision-makers and external stakeholders.Work closely with senior management on transaction execution, including negotiations, deal structuring, and closing.Integration Management Office:
Support integration planning for acquired companies.Ensure workstream leads are held accountable for integration activitiesIdentify inter-dependencies across workstreams and escalate potential roadblocksQuantify and keep track of value creation initiativesReport on the progress of the integrationStakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal teams across finance, legal, and operations to ensure a comprehensive view of potential transactions.Maintain strong communication with external stakeholders including investment bankers, legal advisors, and other consultants.Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.1-3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, consulting, or related fields, with a focus on M&A.Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.Strong project management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis software.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Desired but not required (not needed for every position)
Experience in the Energy and / or SaaS industry is an important plusExperience with databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or PitchBook is a plusDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
