Claim Specialist (General Liability/Binding Authority) - Hybrid

RSUI is seeking a motivated and collaborative Claim Specialist to join our General Liability claims unit in Atlanta, Georgia! The Claim Specialist is responsible for all-inclusive specialty GL claims management including coverage analysis and resolution, formulating action plans, directing field investigations, evaluating exposure, appropriate file reporting, litigation management, attendance at mediations, and settlement negotiations.

Team meetings, employee events, and other work obligations also often require an in-person presence. This position will work RSUI's hybrid work schedule, which requires three days weekly in the office.

Responsibilities:
* Assertive daily handling of a high volume of general liability claims including the managing of litigation and the recognition of diverse coverage issues.* Provides appropriate reporting on files to the Unit Leader and/or Sr. Management with recommendations on reserving, plan of action, and current evaluation as required.* Acts independently in evaluating claim exposures within assigned dollar authority.* May perform other related tasks as assigned, depending on business need.
Qualifications:
* College degree or equivalent multi-line, multi-jurisdictional GL claims experience.* 5+ years of claim handling experience with a high degree of technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of coverage/policy language and litigation management.* Must be able to obtain and/or maintain the required Adjuster's Licenses.* Excellent oral and written communication skills required (telephone, e-mail and interpersonal).* Strong knowledge of specialized claim handling, legal issues, civil procedures, loss compensation values, principles of investigation, adjustment documentation, and evaluation of cases to determine an effective course of action.* Superior internal and external customer service orientation.* Excellent time management and organizational skills.* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word and Excel).
