Energy Efficiency Market Engagement Manager
to join our growing team in Chicago. In this role, you will lead a team of Outreach Leads who engage directly with utility customers, helping them access energy efficiency upgrades and incentive programs to maximize their participation in utility offerings. This position also involves managing municipal account relationships and coordinating strategy with the utility's external affairs team, making government affairs knowledge a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide management and leadership to a team of five to seven Energy Advisors, including tracking program and sales goals, KPIs, and budgets.
Provide support to Utility External Affairs and Large Customer management teams.
Manage day-to-day activities, team goals, outreach strategy and objectives while supporting the outreach role for Municipal customers.
Oversee and report on program operation activities, such as project verification activities, customer satisfaction, client and stakeholder documentation requirements.
Serve as a Software Super User, understanding system functionalities, training staff on program operations software, and assisting with problem-solving with the development team.
Conduct outreach, educate, and assist Municipal customers so they may effectively participate in utility energy efficiency programs by identifying and strategizing energy efficiency strategies.
Develop and execute outreach strategies to recruit new and retain current customers.
Help customers identify qualifying projects and associated incentives and support customer incentive application completion, submission, and follow-up.
Respond to program inquiries.
Train and support customers to use new software programs, if needed.
Represent utility energy efficiency Program at community events, industry trade shows, conference presentations, and webinars.
Collaborate with the marketing department to develop and implement targeted outreach messaging and advertising.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
4-7 years of related management experience, preferably with customer service/sales, energy efficiency, and/or government affairs.
Strong stakeholder engagement abilities, including developing and maintaining relationships with government officials, industry groups, and associated economic development organizations (chambers, rotary clubs, etc.).
Capacity to develop and implement comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategies.
Strong history of organizational and project management skills.
Strong knowledge of energy efficiency technologies and practices with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proven track record in managing teams and complex programs.
Able to learn new tools and technologies quickly and use them proficiently (e.g., Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, and Salesforce).
Confidence with the ability to quickly build trusting relationships and sell concepts at all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously, be a customer-focused problem solver, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a personal vehicle to visit customer sites.
Must be able to travel locally, up to approximately 20% of the time (mainly day travel).
