Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Events and Summer Programs, the Assistant Director will assist the team with responsibilities of coordination, promotion, and executing of major academic year events including Commencement, Family Weekend, Convocation, and Honors Day. While under the supervision of the Associate Director of Events, the Assistant Director of Events and Summer Programs will work directly with faculty in the responsibility of planning academic symposia, as well as campus-wide lectures and concerts.
Additionally, the Assistant Director will work with both the Associate Director of Events & Summer Programs as well as the Director of Campus Services to coordinate revenue-generating programs, which focus primarily on non-academic events such as sports camps, single-day meetings, multi-day conferences, memorials, weddings, receptions, and dinners by community organizations and professional associations. This work includes event budget preparation and analysis; designing and maintaining logistical processes, registrations, procedures, and billing of year-round on and off- campus events and programs, summer student staff hiring, training, and supervision; and assisting in managing the schedule of the events set-up team.
Benefits and Pay:
Salary Range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $59,000- Maximum $62,300

Education/Skills Requirements
Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Strong organizational and customer service skills
Thoroughness in planning and execution to ensure no detail is overlooked.
Precision in managing logistics and timelines.
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Clear and concise communication with clients, vendors, and team members.
Ability to anticipate and address potential issues before they arise.
Quick and effective problem-solving in high-pressure situations.
Ability to stay calm and composed in high-stress situations.
Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the wiliness to learn other software as needed.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College’s Motor Vehicle Use Policy required.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Required:
A minimum of two years of experience in event coordination, project management, or similar roles that involve organizing, budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing logistics for events or related experience.
Preferred:
Prior experience in event planning in an institutional setting
Standard Work Days and Hours
This position is full-time, year round working 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
Required to work throughout the summer, evenings, and/or weekend hours to support staff events and summer programs.
