Software Engineers
(multiple teams, multiple levels)to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. The primary work location is in Colorado Springs, CO. Candidates will primarily be responsible for software development using Java. Additional responsibilities include: provide in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java; resolve complex problems, design, develop, test, integrate, and support users for a large code baseline; follow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the code; assist with design, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation; design, code, test, and implement automation tools. Essential Functions: Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products. Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications. Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operations automation. Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases. Basic Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable. Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and at minimum 2 years of related experience; A STEM Master's degree + 0 years of experience; 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree Active SECRET CLEARANCE which is required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Experience with agile development methodologies. Experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration management. Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux Experience with software programing in Java/J2EE, familiarity with Java Spring Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams Use of standard software development and management tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, Eclipse Ability and willingness to travel locally up-to 10% to support business needs Preferred Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired. Possessing a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is highly desired. Strong problem-solving skills are desired, including reviewing performance issues, identifying root causes, and recommending and developing a solution. Experience developing enterprise applications or Command and Control system application development is desired. Previous experience with message translation software is desired. Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation is desired. Experience with Software Integration testing, including developing automated test scripts and pipeline development is desired. Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms is desired. Good working knowledge of MS Office products. Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers; experience setting up a container environment is preferred (Dockers & Kubernetes). Knowledge of server-side development and message passing. Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks. Salary Range:
The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level ($81,000 - $140,000).
