About the role and where you will be working:
The General Manager Finance is responsible for managing and leading the Finance Team. Ensuring a customer-focused team delivers a comprehensive range of financial management services for a diverse organisation. This role is responsible for ensuring that SCC(WA) is financially sustainable across its service areas through robust financial management processes and analysis while ensuring ongoing compliance with statutory and contractual requirements. This position is located at our central office in Rivervale. Responsibilities:
Ensuring SCC(WA) is financially sustainable across its service areas through robust financial management processes and analysis. Ensuring ongoing compliance with statutory and contractual requirements. Delivering a comprehensive range of financial functions, including accounts payable, receivables, management reporting, and analysis. Managing SCC(WA)'s financial performance through budget preparation, management, and forecasting. Providing financial analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting service areas to improve their financial performance. Preparing annual financial statements, managing the external audit, and delivering financials and reporting. Developing and maintaining financial controls and processes, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Managing taxation and compliance matters. Implementing liquidity, investment, and debt strategies. Developing relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory agencies, and funders. Planning, managing, and delivering strategic outcomes for SCC(WA) and working collaboratively with employees to achieve those outcomes. Fostering and actively contributing to a culture of continual improvement and making a lasting positive impact on the organisation, its people and the communities we serve. About you:
The ideal candidate will have strong proven technical skills, especially in the areas of financial accounting, budgetary and financial management. To be considered for this role you'll be:
A CA or CPA or equivalent with experience in a similar finance leadership role for at least five years. A strong leader with experience in developing and managing finance teams. A results-oriented individual with proven technical skills in financial accounting, budgeting, and financial management. An effective communicator with experience in stakeholder management and problem-solving. Experienced in managing financial compliance and driving change. Experienced in aged care or related fields.
