About the role and where you will be working:
The Chief Operating Officer Home Care, Disability and Mental Health is accountable for the strategic and operational leadership of high quality, financially viable and person-centred services across Home Care, Disability and Mental Health at Southern Cross Care WA (SCC). This position is located at our central office in Rivervale. We'll Also be asking you to:
Build strong strategic partnerships with funders, peak bodies, relevant organisations, consumers, and carers. Promote viable opportunities that improve services for people in Home Care, Disability and Mental Health services. Evaluate and explore opportunities for business growth in line with the organisational strategic intent. Identify and deliver sustainable and culturally appropriate service models and care options. Ensure that Home Care, Disability and Mental Health can execute medium and long-term plans that are aligned with SCC’s strategic direction and build success and market presence. Lead managers and Home Care, Disability and Mental Health leadership team members to deliver best practice, drive operational outcomes, adhere to operational policies, implement strategic objectives, and support people to achieve operational goals. Capture, measure, and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators. Develop and control all operational budgets to ensure that the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters and to maintain the financial strength of SCC. Demonstrate leadership in the areas of safety, quality and risk and contribute to organisational quality and safety initiatives. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and other regulations through implementing risk assessments and management programs in the clinical and non-clinical areas including, but not limited to, the National Standards for Mental Health, Aged Care Quality Standards and NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators. Undertake workforce planning to ensure current and future requirements are met and resource deployment is optimised. About you:
The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded, growth-driven leader with significant senior experience in a complex human services organisation, ideally in the community, aged or health care settings. To be considered for this role you'll be:
Tertiary qualification in management, health, social sciences or a relevant equivalent discipline. Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of the health, disability and mental health and/or aged care sectors. Demonstrated experience in leading a complex human service organisation or other complex organisation. Demonstrated experience in business development, achieving market growth, service improvement and delivering high-quality person-centred services. Strong critical analysis, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple demands and manage a multitude of complex tasks simultaneously. Alignment with the Southern Cross Care values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence. Postgraduate qualifications in management or business administration. Demonstrated knowledge of the Home Care, Disability and Mental Health funding models, clinical governance requirements, reform initiatives and relevant legislation.
