Sewer Department, Town of NantucketJob Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Sewer Director, the Engineering-Compliance Officer is responsible for reviewing plan documents, conducting sewer inspections, assisting with employee credentialing compliance, developing plant compliance policies, and ensuring sewer operations comply with regulatory rules and regulations.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.Three (3) years of experience in wastewater management.Massachusetts registered PE (Professional Engineer) or equivalent state registration, with the ability to obtain MA Registration within 1 year.Massachusetts Wastewater Operators License Grade 6C Full status preferred, or ability to secure this license within two years.NEWEA Voluntary Grade III Collections Operator License required, or ability to obtain same.NEWEA Voluntary Lab Analyst License suggested.Special Requirements:Participation in the NIMS (National Incident Management System) system and obtaining multiple NIMS certificates.Valid Class D Massachusetts Driver’s License required, must remain active and in good standing during employment.GIS experience preferred.Work Arrangement:This position is eligible for remote work with Town approval.The Town actively secures housing for Town employees relocating to Nantucket.Retirement pension through Barnstable County Retirement.90% employer-sponsored health insurance plan options.Diverse selection of supplemental insurance policies.Equal Opportunity Employer Statement:The Town of Nantucket is an Equal Opportunity Employer, a D.E.I. community, and encourages women, minorities, and veterans to apply.
