Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow within the organization and potentially become the lead Staff Accountant.
Responsibilities
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account analysis/reconciliation and related journal entries, including bank loans/borrowings, various electronic funds transfers, and other items as assigned.
Import general journal entries for credit card purchases and other monthly payments.
Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and audit as assigned.
Complete monthly WSHV bank statements and related journal entries.
Prepare cost and other informational reporting for New York State and the federal government as assigned.
Cross-train with other Finance areas such as Accounts Payable as assigned.
Work on special, nonrecurring, and ongoing projects at the request of the Chief Financial Officer.
Occasional department-related travel as required.
Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and related items.
Be familiar with all Agency policies and procedures.
Adhere to all Agency and Corporate Compliance and Human Resource policies.
Perform any other related duties as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Work Environment
Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (onsite fully). The accounting team consists of roughly 7 members.
