Design, draft, and amend tax-favored retirement plans, including qualified retirement plans under Code § 401(a), 403(b), and 457(b)Assist clients in correcting documentary, administrative, and fiduciary errors in retirement and health plansAdvise on the employee benefits aspects of corporate restructurings, mergers, reductions-in-force, and other transactional activitiesGuide clients on designing and administering ERISA health and welfare plan documentsProvide counsel on contract and trust law matters for multiemployer plansAnalyze and address multiemployer pension plan withdrawal liability issuesReview employment-related documents, including issues related to 409AConduct due diligence and review documents for ERISA compliance in mergers and acquisitionsOffer insights into non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements and related tax codes (Code §§ 409A, 457, 280G)Uphold strong client service standards, with excellent research, analysis, and communication skillsRequirements:
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in employee benefits law, specifically in designing, drafting, and advising on various retirement and health benefit plansDemonstrated ability to work independently on client matters while contributing to a team environmentProven record of project ownership and commitment to high-quality client serviceEducation:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with a strong academic recordCertifications:
Admission to the State Bar in California.Skills:
