The Vice President of Global Engineering (VPGE) for the Point of Purchase (POP) display industry will lead and manage the global engineering operations, driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence in the design and production of POP displays. This role demands a strategic leader with extensive experience in the POP display industry, strong technical skills, and a proven track record in global engineering management. The VPGE will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and be an integral part of the executive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive global engineering strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and market demands.
Provide visionary leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with other executive leaders to define and achieve long-term strategic goals, particularly in enhancing the company's market position in the POP display industry.
Team Management and Development:
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global engineering team with expertise in POP display design and production.
Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment that attracts and retains top engineering talent in the industry.
Ensure continuous professional development and training opportunities for the engineering team to keep up with industry trends and advancements.
Product Development and Innovation:
Oversee the design/engineering of innovative POP displays that meet customer needs and industry standards.
Drive product innovation by staying current with industry trends, materials, and technologies.
Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the engineering team to develop cutting-edge solutions.
Implement best practices in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including the executive team, board of directors, clients, and external partners.
Foster strong relationships with key clients to understand their needs and provide tailored engineering solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with significant experience in the POP display industry.
Proven track record of leading large, diverse engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Strong technical expertise in POP display design, materials, and production processes.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
Experience with lean manufacturing, agile methodologies, and continuous improvement processes.
