Position Summary:

LinQuest seeks a SATCOM Engineer V at Aberdeen Proving Ground Maryland, to work in a lab environment at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland to provide expertise in developing innovative prototypes that provide resilient SATCOM access to Army ground, missile, and aviation systems. The successful candidate will be part of a team providing integrated resilient SATCOM prototypes to the force which directly supports the Network CFT’s effort to modernize & harden the Army’s network against detection, intrusion, and compromise. The successful candidate will work closely with Research and Development staff personnel and other federal contractors to update systems, address security breaches and help troubleshoot issues and restore computer systems to provide maximum functionality. Software Engineer with skills Software Engineer with skills in software development, test automation, and system automation to support Projected Anti-jam Tactical SATCOM (PATS) and/or WGS Certification engineering efforts.

Key Skills/Responsibilities and Required Skills:

Active TS/SCI Clearance

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, testing or related field

A minimum of ten (10) year of related tactical network software engineering functions

Ability to provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs.

Ability to support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms and access protocols.

Experience with supporting analysis of system performance, throughput and response time, analysis of operational requirements and system loading.

Experience with conducting systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs.

Experience with participating in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems

Ability to support design reviews and perform evaluation of satellite and terminal contractor designs.

Ability to demonstrate the ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms for others involved.

Experience with serving as subject matter experts in all aspects of transmission, to include modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, and other algorithms/protocols.

Experience with serving as Subject Matter Expert and brings knowledge of systems engineering methods and processes in order to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems.

Knowledge of Military Standards (MIL-STDs) and certification processes.

Familiarity of customer/vendor product development, business proposals, marketing interaction, product design and manufacturing processes

Desired Skills and Experience:

Experience with DoD Program Executive Office (PEO), Project Manager (O6 PM) or Product Manager (O5 PdM)

Ability to analyze issues and propose appropriate resolutions.

Knowledge of Army organization structure and Unit Task Organization concepts.

Ability to effectively communicate written and oral

Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Experience supporting the PEO C3T, or Intelligence & Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) program

Experience in engineering and/or acquisition of Intelligence Community (IC) and/or DOD spacecraft systems

Knowledge of IC and/or DOD acquisition roles, processes, and /or program management

Experience with Model Based System Engineering or Digital Engineering

Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from approximately $150,000 to $170,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
