What we need:
We are hiring a
Chief Financial Officer
to provide operational and strategic insight for our practice. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the incumbent will report to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with physician leadership and the Board of Directors in decision making. The CFO will provide leadership over all financial functions including accounting, payroll, budgets, financial statements, financial compliance, revenue cycle, payer contracts, analytics and forecasting. This person will continuously evaluate and drive improvement in the processes, tools and organizational structure under his/her management. The CFO will use data to guide business decisions to provide the greatest opportunity for success. This position will lead the Accounting, Billing and Decision Support/Analytics departments with a total staff of more than 60 employees. A West Michigan candidate would be ideally suited for this role as they will work remotely most of the time but should expect at least one on site day per month. Occasionally they may be required to come in with little advanced notice.
Responsibilities:
Participate in formulating the company's strategic business plans and supporting tactical initiatives as a member of the executive management team.Create processes and systems to support growth and efficiencies.Develop financial and tax strategies.Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.Supervise acquisition due diligence.Prepare and present financial information to the management, various committees and boards.Understand, report and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.Supervisory
•Directly supervises the Vice President of Information Services, Director of Billing and Director of Accounting. Indirectly oversees 50-90 employees in the Billing departments, Decision Support, Data Management, Software Engineering and the Accounting department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Requirements:
•This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of controller/financial leadership level experience in a hospital or physician practice. A Master's degree and CPA designation is preferred.
•Proven skill in advanced Excel and ability to perform complex formulas and mathematical calculations.
•Ability to conduct presentations to large and diverse audiences.
•Ability to inform, educate and influence others to support organization goals and objectives.
•Ability to tactfully communicate in sensitive situations.
•Ability to identify and resolve problems and perform short- and long-range planning.
•Ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time, as well as the ability to stay focused on key business and operational deliverables.
•Highly self-motivated and works independently with minimum supervision.
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to effectively prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlines in stressful situations.
