A fantastic opportunity for a pivotal role within a construction company, responsible for overseeing the procurement of steel materials essential for our projects. As the industry evolves, so does the need for strategic sourcing and effective supply chain management. The Steel Purchasing Director will lead efforts in developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with the company's goals while ensuring the highest quality materials are sourced at competitive prices. This role requires a thorough understanding of the market and the ability to forge strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and mitigate risks associated with supply shortages or price fluctuations. The Steel Purchasing Director will also collaborate closely with project managers and engineering teams to anticipate material needs, streamline purchasing processes, and maintain optimal inventory levels. Additionally, this position will involve staying informed about industry trends, analyzing market data, and reinforcing compliance with regulations and standards. Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans for steel materials aligned with corporate objectivesConduct market research to identify trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities in the steel industryNegotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricingManage supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with specificationsCollaborate with project managers to forecast material needs and optimize procurement timelinesMonitor and analyze procurement data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvementsEnsure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies regarding material procurement
Qualifications & Requirements:
