JobSummary: The Manager, Indirect Procurement will be responsible for developing and implementing the indirect procurement function for the Company. You will transform the Company’s indirect procurement function from a tactical program to a strategic sourcing organization. Your responsibilities include managing the selection, evaluation and negotiation for indirect items and services. You will ensure that the suppliers selected fit the Company culture and philosophy, have the necessary capacity, and provide goods or services at the best price and highest quality. You will collaborate across the organization with VPs, Directors, and Managers of various internal departments to understand the business needs and take the lead on sourcing initiatives.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 - 3 days/week in our New York, NY office.

An employee in this position can expect an annual starting rate between $130,000 and $140,000, depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.

WhatYouDo:

• Lead the Company’s indirect procurement function, and manage the divisional and/or functional strategies:

o Retail (facility support service providers, third-party security forces, fixture vendors, labor and construction service providers),

o Distribution Center (freight, shipping, transport, automation equipment manufacturers),

o Headquarters (IT - hardware, software, infrastructure, services, telecom; Travel – air, hotel, rental car, corp. card, fleet; Professional Services – business consulting, legal, financial/audit, commercial/property insurance, HR services),

o Publishing (manufacturing, shipping)

• Develop and implement successful indirect procurement best practices--sourcing strategies, request for proposals, reverse auctions, competitive bidding process, etc.

• Develop and implement a preferred vendor program of strategic suppliers and negotiated payment terms.

• Establish a valued partnership across all departments and functions to create continuous feedback and ensure vendors are meeting needs, obligations and performance/service metrics.

• Identify future opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings.

• Develop procurement expense control reduction targets.

• Establish vendor spend control procedures and parameters. Hold leaders accountable in achieving stated cost savings goals/initiatives.

• Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of procurement best practices.

• Initiate productivity programs to drive value across all categories of spend.

• Establish ways to gather and share industry trends and impact to indirect spend--disruptive technologies, changing legislation and policies, pricing.

• Negotiate complex contracts and collaborate with Legal for the finalization of all such contracts.

Knowledge&Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related major or comparable experience.

• 5-7 years of procurement and contracting experience for a large retail organization.

• At least 3 years in an indirect procurement management role.

• Previous success on impacting the bottom line and increasing the competitive advantage of omnichannel retain organization.

• Experience as a strategic advisor and trusted partner.

• Ability to educate our business teams on the value that strategic procurement can bring to the Company.

• Ability to negotiate and influence internal/external stakeholders at every level.

• Comfort working in a fast paced, results driven environment that makes decisions quickly.

• Able to travel up to 30%.
