This executive role is crucial in shaping and executing private sector fundraising initiatives that bolster the research, teaching, and patient care mission of the Department of Medicine. You will lead a talented team of around 13 professionals, spearheading comprehensive fundraising strategies and driving annual and campaign fundraising success. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Chair of the Department of Medicine to identify priorities and strategies, leading the planning and execution of impactful fundraising campaigns, and managing volunteer boards effectively.The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in major and principal gifts development, with at least ten years of relevant experience and a history of securing substantial philanthropic contributions. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to thrive in a complex, multi-faceted environment. Additionally, you will actively participate in direct fundraising initiatives, maintain a portfolio of key prospects, and provide training and support to faculty and volunteers.A background in academic medicine is preferred, and an advanced degree is a plus.
