The Reinsurance Account Manager complete initial set up of basic group reinsurance contracts that generate medium level annualized premiums. Set accruals, apply premium/commissions, draft legal documents and provide technical support for those contracts. Ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting of assigned contracts. Regularly interact with Underwriters and external clients on medium complexity issues.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for basic group reinsurance treaties (as assigned). Coordinate data acquisition from clients and various internal sources for new business and renewal business.
Interpret contracts and account data to ensure timely and accurate set-up and maintenance of assigned business in the Group Reinsurance administration system (Raptor).
Prepare facultative Certificates of Reinsurance, amendments, and group reinsurance contracts for assigned business timely and accurately.
Create and manage accruals, research, report, and collect balances due over 60 days for assigned business that generates medium level annualized premiums (on average). Validate and apply premiums and commissions within specified timeframes to maintain low average suspense balance.
Complete all required risk control processes and reporting to ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned business.
May provide guidance to Associate Account Managers on administration and accounting set-up and application.
Report issues and enhancements and test Group Reinsurance administration system and Imaging system.
Education and Experience
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
2+ Years accounting, insurance and/or reinsurance experience including 1-3 years contract review and/or development experience
Skills and Abilities
Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.
Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload.
Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
Intermediate investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects
Basic accounting knowledge
Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objective

Compensation Range:$54,435.00 - $77,755.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
