Pittsburgh Transportation Group is seeking a dedicated full-time
Fleet Dispatcher
to manage evening and overnight dispatch operations for our entire driver fleet. This position is scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday, from 5:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
Position Overview:
As a
Fleet
Dispatcher
, you will oversee and manage the evening/overnight operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service for all drivers, buses, charters, and vehicle assignments. You'll also play a key role in assisting with fleet maintenance scheduling.
Key Responsibilities of a Fleet Dispatcher:
Supervision & Dispatching : Oversee shuttle service operations in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and efficient dispatch of scheduled routes according to company policies, contract requirements, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Service Scheduling
: Assist with weekly service scheduling, adjusting and making changes as needed to meet operational demands.
Driver Support
: Respond promptly and professionally to driver inquiries or issues, offering guidance and support.
Data & Reporting : Collect and monitor operational data, including route performance, payroll indicators, and service metrics. Provide daily reports on service operations across all contracts.
Vehicle Assignment
: Coordinate vehicle assignments based on service requirements and maintenance schedules.
Fleet Maintenance Coordination
: Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure timely maintenance and repairs are scheduled for the fleet.
Customer Service
: Assist current and potential customers with information and pricing. Process reservation requests and updates as needed.
Safety & Compliance : Support the Safety & Training team in monitoring driver performance, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and safety standards.
Customer Relations
: Handle customer concerns, complaints, and commendations with professionalism and efficiency.
Other Duties
: Assist with any other tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the dispatch team and service delivery.
Position Qualifications of a Fleet Dispatcher:
Education
: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
: Minimum of 2 years of dispatch experience, preferably in the transportation industry.
