Location: Bloomington, MN and Shakopee, Minnesota (On-site)

Lead the Service Engineering function within North American Operations. This encompasses involvement in and advancement of engineering endeavors focused on improving product integrity, minimizing warranty-related spending, and elevating the performance of the service operation. Key insights and deliverables are expected toward continuous improvements for reverse logistics, process, and product designs. As a leadership position within the engineering function, contributions toward department vision and strategy are also expected.
Highlights
Process Development: Determine best-practice methodology for in-process diagnostics and edge diagnostics.
Partnerships: Collaborate and influence reporting strategy for global and local reporting of service and warranty key performance indicators.
Global Impact: Support global owners in development and continuous improvement of repair and service strategy for all hearing instrument products. Participate in cascading improvement to other sites globally, when required.
Investigation: Conduct hands-on investigation of product returns to determine cause, propose viable solutions and design modifications.
Compliance: Maintain compliance in documentation for Corporate Procedures for Service and returns
Troubleshooting: Investigate, pilot, and recommend solutions that will improve customer satisfaction for custom products.
Continuous Improvement: Optimize process effectiveness in resolving service quality issues - such as re-returns and service complaints
Technical Development: Maintain and enhance technical knowledge relevant to investigations and analysis.
Leadership: Provide guidance and training to technical employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
Experience: A minimum of five years of engineering experience within the medical device manufacturing sector is desirable, with a demonstrated history in engineering or a leadership capacity, overseeing technical projects that yield cost reductions and enhancements in quality
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with warranty/returns reduction and customer satisfaction preferred
Lean/Six Sigma: Experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is highly desirable.
Medical Device Regulations: Knowledge of ISO13485 preferred
Competencies
Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude
Capable of overseeing various initiatives concurrently, ensuring task prioritization aligns with the strategic aims of the organization.
Able to initiate work and guide teammates, ensuring goals are met within set deadlines.
Comprehensive knowledge of operation of consumer electronic devices, preferably hearing instruments
Adept at prioritizing responsibilities to optimize productivity in high-stress situations.
