The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a multi-year strategic plan for philanthropic advancement, creating an annual development plan, and designing a comprehensive program that includes major gifts, planned giving, and special campaigns. This role involves building and leading a large fundraising team, monitoring operational effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The Chief Philanthropy Officer will also be at the forefront of frontline fundraising, managing donor relationships, and fostering a culture of philanthropy within the organization. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree is a plus) and a minimum of 7 years' of senior-level, full-time fundraising experience, with a proven track record in major gift solicitation and donor stewardship. The role requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of fundraising techniques, financial management principles, and board governance. Experience in leading a volunteer board of directors and a large fundraising team is highly valued. The ideal candidate will be adept at strategic planning, have a history of successful gift requests at significant levels, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
