The successful candidate will be responsible for examining, evaluating, and authorizing the approval of customer applications for commercial loans. This role requires a professional with a strong background in commercial lending, particularly within the local market, and a deep understanding of lending products and underwriting standards. The VP, Commercial Lending Officer will also be tasked with managing and developing the commercial loan portfolio, building and maintaining customer relationships, and actively prospecting for new clients. Due diligence in the underwriting process, including financial analysis and compliance with policy and regulatory requirements, is a key aspect of the position. Applicants for the VP, Commercial Lending Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of direct underwriting and portfolio management experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and knowledge of SBA and similar government guarantee programs is a plus. The role demands a professional who can effectively serve existing accounts, ensure the creditworthiness of customers, and promote and cross-sell other bank products and services as appropriate. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying and analyzing new business markets and have the ability to work with a high level of independence, while also being a team player.
