Chief Executive Officer
Mary's Center, Washington, District of Columbia, us, 20022
Mary's Center, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a mission-driven, federally qualified health center (FQHC) that is nationally recognized for its exceptional quality of care. The organization seeks a strategic and operationally astute, mission-oriented executive to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is an exciting opportunity to lead a mission-based, growing, community-oriented organization focused on serving historically under-resourced and at-risk residents.
Mary's Center has grown from serving 200 participants to more than 60,000 participants, has an annual budget of $110 million and 700 employees. Greater than 64% of the patient families served by Mary's Center are Latino. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the new CEO will identify and pursue opportunities to improve and expand services, access, quality, and reimbursement. Within the context of Mary's Center mission, this leader must prioritize the financial and operational performance, organizational structure, and building a collaborative, transparent relationship with the board and staff.
The CEO will provide direction and leadership in strategy development, leveraging organizational strengths and relationships to execute key operating and financial metrics, and market growth. Understanding the revenue streams and donor base, identifying grant funding opportunities on the state and federal levels, and cultivating corporate and individual prospects in a disciplined and purposeful manner are responsibilities in which this leader must excel. The CEO must proactively and persuasively represent Mary's Center's mission to its communities with current and potential donors before legislative and regulatory leaders at the city, state, and national levels.
The ideal candidate will be a highly visible, inspirational leader able to empower staff at all levels across the enterprise. The CEO must strengthen the relationship with the organization's labor unions and make a concerted effort to build relationships externally with other community organizations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience serving in leadership roles within healthcare organizations that might include, but would not be limited to, FQHCs, primary care facilities, not-for-profit healthcare organizations, and human services organizations. This is an exciting opportunity to support an impactful mission serving under-resourced communities spanning seven locations in D.C. and Maryland.
