Unit: Med/Surg/Ortho 2nd Floor# of beds: 34Ratios: 1:4, 1:5Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Orthopedic Patients: Hips, Knees, Shoulders, Spine, fractures General Medical/Surgical – pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, chest pain, Gi Bleed, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, kidney failure, UTIMed/Surg. Ortho preferredAre RNs required to titrate drips?: yesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, CardizemCharge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes/YesAre there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes. 8-10:1RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Cpap/BipapIs there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: Yes. Yes, monitor techs RNs must be able to read basic stripsScrub Color/Dress Code: scrubsAdditional Details
Primary to St. Michael Medical Center but if needed, travelers will be required to float throughout Region Three: St Anthony Hospital – Gig Harbor, WA; St. Michael Medical Center – Silverdale, WA.1st to floatEPIC training if not used system within year or fail Sphinx assessment.
