THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Torrance State Hospital is seeking a Staff Physician 2 to be part of our dedicated professional team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Staff Physician 2, you will be responsible for a thorough workup of all patients under your care including performing detailed medical examinations and making appropriate diagnoses. This includes prescribing the indicated treatment orders and interpreting consultations, laboratory, and other findings. Daily responsibilities include rendering medical treatment to all patients in assigned areas, making unit rounds, examining all acutely ill or injured patients, ordering labs, x-rays, and other diagnostic studies, and conducting consultations as necessary. You will have the opportunity to review results of studies, reports, consultations, and provide follow-up care where indicated, substantiating all treatment and orders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Possible evening, weekend and holiday on-call.Salary:

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.

Other Requirements:

PA residency requirement is currently

waived

for this title.You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
