The Department of Human Services, Norristown Sate Hospital, is seeking a motivated Licensed Occupational Therapist. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Licensed Occupational Therapist, you will design, implement, and evaluate occupational treatment therapies for residents. In this hands-on role, you will determine program needs that will help develop functional skills or strengthen existing skills in patients. Excellent communication and patient rapport are required to sustain interest in activities that improve adaptive skills and to evaluate progress changes to ensure goals are achieved at the highest functional level. You will conduct group and individualized programs, participate as a team member in multidisciplinary meetings, and maintain orthotic devices and adaptive equipment as recommended.

Legal Requirements:You must pass a background investigation.A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
