Summary About the Position: This position is at TAMC Operations, at Tripler Army Medical Center, HI. Serve as Administrative Support Assistant responsible for providing a full range of administrative support to include advising on administrative, personnel, budget, and file. Establish, maintain controls, and follow up to ensure timely accomplishments, distribution, submission and review of correspondence, reports, and other documents. Responsibilities Perform a wide variety of filing and records keeping, updating manuals on policy and directives, reporting and informational duties. Provide information and guidance to staff on procedures, forms, and documentation required to support budget estimates and requests. Serve as Administrative Coordinator for internal Civilian Personnel Actions. Use basic and advanced office automation program functions to perform management and/or program support assignments. Review all incoming and outgoing mail for the organization, sorting, distributing and ensuring completing and timeframe. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing technical administrative and clerical tasks such as gathering and compiling information from various database sources; drafting correspondences, reports, and/or briefings; maintaining files and/or records; and responding to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Administration Clerical Computer Skills Schedule Management Workforce Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
