Job Description Join one of the nations premier academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine , as an IT Portfolio Manager . This position is hybrid and requires travel to site locations in Chicagoland as needed. The IT Portfolio Manager supports project intake and scheduling, portfolio analytics, portfolio governance processes, resource management, and overall reporting. This function enables effective decision making and business value delivery. The IT Portfolio Manager partners with IT leaders and portfolio stakeholders to enable demand planning, project resource management, and project pipeline planning. The Portfolio Manager acts as a backup to IT financial and reporting function and acts as the primary administrator of the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) application. The Portfolio Manager will have strong leadership skills and excellent relationship management skills. Essential Job Functions Act as facilitator for the project intake process, support governance reporting Ensure TCO and business value is clearly documented and TCO is completed before project initiates Assist management with tracking of incoming project work, including the coordination of scheduling and prioritization Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual planning and review meetings to ensure project scheduling and prioritization Partner with Architecture, PMs, and Portfolio leaders to manage demand, create project resource plans, and ensure scheduling alignment Develop strategies to improve service and governance processes Work with Architecture and other teams to logically group projects with similar technical components Maintain the Portfolio classification system (Tiers, Strategic Alignment, Others as defined by the CBIS portfolio) Provide analysis on the portfolio to be used in decision making, create reports to be used by senior management Develop reporting to track and manage the overall health of the in-flight project portfolio Act as primary administrator for the ServiceNow Portfolio Management application Understand all integration points and capabilities between ServiceNow and other systems e.g. SharePoint, Apptio, Oracle, etc. Maintain the PM Playbook, PM training resources, and all associated templates in partnership with the PMO Director and PM Leads Ensure PMs are adhering to Playbook standards by conducting project quality reviews and reporting to measure quality Act as a backup to CBIS Financial and Reporting Analyst; assist with budgetary needs; work with PMs, application and production support teams w/reporting and tracking financial matters regarding forecast and actual Act as CBIS SharePoint Team Site Administrator Required Qualifications B.S or M.S in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 -10 years with portfolio management or IT project management Demonstrated project portfolio management skills (project intake, resource, demand planning, budget management) Hands-on experience using Portfolio Management tools like ServiceNow for portfolio management, resource management, project status reporting, portfolio reporting, etc. Ability to organize and present project portfolio reports, proposals and other related portfolio information Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a focus on collaboration, team building and customer service Excellent relationship management building and skill set required Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels of the organization, understanding of executive ready communication Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Visio, MS Project, Power Point, MS SharePoint and MS Excel Independent problem-solver Sort through issues and conducts comparative analysis of multiple solutions (i.e. skilled in problem analysis; pays very close attention to detail) Able to work in a team environment or independently Excellent listening and organizational skills with emphasis on detail and follow-through Preferred Qualifications PMP (Project Management Professional) certification MBA degree Position Details Job Type/FTE: Full Time Shift: Days Job Location: Hyde Park Unit/Department: IT Business Office CBA Code: Non-Union Why Join Us Weve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
