Description: Job Overview: The System Security Engineer oversees, manages, and configures servers and other security-centric platforms with the Information Security team. This role also provides technical support, installation, maintenance, and documentation as needed. System Security Engineer monitors/develops procedures for infrastructure security posturing and system hygiene on servers and other systems. Duties and Responsibilities: Designs, configures, implements, and maintains system security platforms and associated software. Ensures security best practices are implemented through auditing, configuration, change control, and monitoring Performs vulnerability scanning and remediation activities for solutions. Develops incident response procedures; responds to security related events and assists in remediation efforts. Collaborates with vendors and service providers to monitor log analysis for any managed services offerings to ensure adequate privacy and security requirements are met. Analyzes internal and external cyber security threats for a plan of action and mitigation Analyzes and evaluates anomalous network and system activity Collaborates with networking and system administration teams to devise and implement appropriate levels of system security. Creates, enforces, and maintains system security standard operating procedures that adhere to established risks and emerging threats. Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement Deploy, manage, and maintain all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including native firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software. Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, group policy, and access rights. Designing computer security architecture and developing detailed cyber security designs. Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols. Download and test new security software and/or technologies. Perform system backups and review errors. Creates technical and non-technical reporting for servers and systems as needed. Download and test new security software and/or technologies. Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements: Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying) High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND four (4) years' experience in systems administration, at least two (2) of which are security-related- required OR eight (8) years' experience in systems administration, with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in information security - required Active Microsoft, Cloud, Database, Storage or Virtualization Administrator (Mid or Senior level) - required Active Security certification, examples include but are not limited to: Microsoft Security Engineer, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CWSP, GIAC certifications, PenTest, or OSCP - required Experience supporting applications in a service-focused industry, with Food and Beverage Applications, Various Gaming applications and hotel applications experience- preferred Advanced ability to perform security system configuration and administration, system updates, policy compliance, and security assessments. Solid troubleshooting skills, good communications skills both written and oral, ability to multitask in a fast, dynamic environment built on multi-vendor security controls. Advanced understanding of common IT security frameworks, controls and protocols, technologies, threats, and vulnerabilities is necessary. Experience performing IT forensic investigations, incident handling, record keeping and reporting Working knowledge of virtual environments (VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat, Oracle, etc.) Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft Office, and common desktop applications. Experience with one or more of UNIX, Linux, Mac OS, and VMware Solid understanding of cloud computing (Azure, Google, Oracle, and AWS) Working knowledge of diagnostic utilities, including but not limited to PowerShell, SolarWinds, Wire Shark, NDT, and Tenable.io Experience developing, documenting and maintaining security policies, procedures and processes for systems administration. Ability to make sound and logical judgments Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives Able to conduct research into confidential issues and maintain absolute secrecy Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language, highly self-motivated and directed, and keen attention to detail. Willing to travel outside of the United States (valid passport is a plus) Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
