Located in picturesque Washington, CT, the Admissions Director position will be part of a cohesive, passionate, and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.Position:We are seeking an Admissions Director who has experience with the student population and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges. If this describes you, then look no further!Schedule:Monday- Friday 9am-5pmPrimary Responsibilities Include:Review intake referral material on prospective applicants to determine suitability for admissionMeet with parents/agencies and applicants to explain the intake evaluation processArrange tours and exploratory visits for parents/agencies and applicantsCoordinate evaluation procedures with departments and collaborate with other departments to determine suitability for admissionPrepare documentation for center decision on admissions to parents/agencies and answer any questions concerning application status and fundingInitiate funding procedures in accordance with state and county agenciesCommunicate and consult with departments on progress and any problems that arise with studentsEstablish and maintain a discharge follow-up procedure regarding the outcome of students, data collected and use for program analysisWork with the finance department regarding funding and delinquent accountsCollaborate with the Executive Director on future strategies for admissionsAttend clinical, medical, and special education conventionsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education or related fieldMinimum of 3 years experience working in admissionsDevereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization.
