For over 50 years, The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT, the Director of Finance position will be part of a cohesive, passionate, and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.
Position:
We are seeking a Director of Finance who has experience with the student population and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Coordinate and administer a financial operations plan including expense budgets, cash control, cost standards, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, collections, and related tasks.
In collaboration with the Center Director, develop and recommend the budget.
Authorize expenditures in accordance with the budget; approve budget and expenses of subordinates.
Ensure protection of business assets through internal control and auditing.
Compare performance with operating plans and standards.
Provide reports and interpret operational results to all management levels.
Oversee contract management and procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and advise management regarding variances in budget.
Forecast short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations.
Oversee accounting principles to a computerized Oracle accounting system.
Supervise and train Finance area personnel in standard accounting, cash control, and special assignments.
Direct and assist in performance of tasks when needed.
Maintain effective communication within areas of responsibility.
Stay current with trends and practices in the field.
Assume duties of HIPAA Privacy Officer.
Ensure optimum performance of the function; recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity and maintain best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required; Master’s degree preferred.
5 years of experience working in Finance.
