A large system in Nebraska/Iowa is looking for ICU RN's. 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. 2 years of unit experience. 13 Week contract.Job Requirements
2 years of unit experience.Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU.Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old.Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.Schedule Information
12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.Shifts: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.Weekend Requirements: Every other.Holiday Requirements: Every other or as needed based on unit needs.Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 shifts.Unit Specific Information
# of Beds: 34Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics.Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes.Are there nurse aides/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:18.RT Equipment: Nasal cannula to vents.Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret.Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue.Additional Details
Fast paced unit with volume flexes due to being primary tertiary hospital for the system.Attributes that will make a nurse successful on this unit are the ability to ask questions, a positive attitude, willingness to help others, critical thinking skills, personable, and positive attitude.Work with attendings and student providers (fellows, residents) to collaborate on care.Radius Rule: 50 miles.
