Legal Administrative Assistant (Litigation) (Hybrid in San Fran) (Full-Time)Location: Hybrid in San Fran, CaliforniaSalary: $70-$85K base Salary
Must Haves:
Must be able to work a Hybrid schedule in San FranTwo years of litigation experienceTwo years working in a fast-paced law officeBasic knowledge of state, federal, and local court rulesThorough understanding of the litigation process, as well as computation of time procedures of accurate calculations of deadlines
The Position
The office has grown with a headcount of approximately 57 attorneys and 36 legal support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Support a team of general liability insurance defense litigation attorneysDraft basic legal documents, correspondence, and court forms, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responsesManage the team's appearance calendar, including via Outlook and eDocketsSchedule hearings, depositions, court appearances, Zoom meetings, conference calls, and other eventsFile and serve documents in state, federal, and appellate courtsProcess vendor invoices, and research, and respond to other billing issuesProcess check requests and reimbursementsAssist with travel and conference planning
Qualifications:
Two years of litigation experienceTwo years working in a fast-paced law officeBasic knowledge of state, federal, and local court rulesThorough understanding of the litigation process, as well as computation of time procedures of accurate calculations of deadlinesAbility to comprehend, manage, and sift through heavy court calendaring data
Software Experience:
Familiarity with using an automated, rules-based docket and calendar system [E-Dockets, Compulaw] and ability to make use of court rules, dockets, and other resources to aid in processing documentsExperience working with document databases: iManageMicrosoft Office 2013 (Word, Outlook, Excel) and PDF editing programsStrong attention to detail and ability to multi-taskAbility to work in a team-based setting and for multiple attorneysExcellent organizational skillsStrong customer service and communication skillsProblem-solving and strong analytical skillsAbility to perform responsibilities with tact, diplomacy, discretion, and respect for confidentiality and diversity
