Job Description
The Department
Invesco Mortgage Capital, Inc. is a publicly held mortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) that trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: IVR). The Company is primarily focused on investing in, financing and managing mortgage-backed securities and other mortgage-related assets. IVR is externally managed by Invesco Advisors.
Your Role
This position reports to IVR's Controller and has primary responsibility of managing the various external and internal financial reporting functions of IVR
You Will Be Responsible For:
Coordination of quarterly/annual SEC filing activities including preparation and/or review of 10-Q and 8-K as well as applicable disclosure checklistsMonitoring U.S. GAAP technical accounting application as well as researching and documenting implementation of new accounting standardsServing as a key resource for annual audit process for IVR, including working closely with external auditors and assisting in preparation of related Board of Directors materialsSupporting external press releases and analyst presentations, including earnings calls, portfolio updates and dividend declarationsReviewing key performance indicators, highlight trends and analyze variances to support management's disclosures in SEC filingsMonitoring and reviewing consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and financial analyses performed by various accounting teamsPreparing materials for quarterly SEC disclosure review committee meetingsProviding financial reporting and technical accounting support to various other funds of Invesco on an as needed basisServing as SOX control owner for various financial reporting controls and processes, ensuring the controls are operating effectively and maintaining evidence of such effectivenessThe Experience You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA track preferred5+ years accounting experienceSEC reporting experience required; Workiva software knowledge and technical accounting experience strongly preferredREIT or financial services industry experience a plusExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacityFull Time / Part Time
