Under general direction of Senior Insurance Examiner (Supervisor), the Insurance Examiner analyzes and conducts risk-focused surveillance of licensed entities to ensure their solvency. Reviews applications requiring the Commissioner's approval to ascertain their financial stability and compliance with the California Insurance Code, California Code of Regulations, Department's rules and the standard operating procedures of FAD, to be completed in an accurate and well-organized manner within established guidelines.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

Working ConditionsWork in a high-rise building, in a cublicle setting, and an open space environment.

Eligible for telework in accordance with CDIs Telework policy. Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants must reside in California. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.

Occasional travel may be required within and/ or outside the State of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, bus, train etc.) Travel may include overnight stay(s).
