Position Summary
The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) at CCCU is responsible for driving sustainable growth by overseeing all aspects of the growth strategy, including retail operations, sales, commercial services, consumer services, and outbound calling. The CGO will collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that enhance the credit union's market position, expand its membership base, and increase revenue.
Essential Duties:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy that encompasses all assigned departments, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s overall business objectives.
Collaborate with the Executive Team to set ambitious yet achievable growth targets, driving the organization toward its strategic goals.
Lead cross-functional teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansions.
Departmental Oversight:
Retail: Drive member acquisition and retention strategies in the retail segment, enhancing the member experience and increasing product penetration.
Business Services: Oversee the development of tailored financial solutions for businesses, optimizing the delivery of products and services to meet the unique needs of business clients in an effort to continue to grow.
Lending: Manage the lending portfolio, ensuring prudent risk management while expanding lending services to new markets and member segments.
Investment Services: Partner as the liaison to TruStage for the growth of investment services, positioning Community Choice as a trusted partner in financial planning.
Mortgages: Oversee the mortgage division, driving market share through innovative mortgage products and member-centric services.
Indirect Lending: Expand indirect lending channels, forging strong partnerships with dealers and other third parties to increase loan origination. Develop a retention program.
Sales: Lead the sales organization in developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth across all business lines, leveraging data-driven insights and market analysis.
Market Analysis and Innovation:
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, member needs, and competitive analysis, translating these insights into actionable growth strategies.
Foster a culture of convenience and access within the organization.
In partnership with the product manager, work on the development of new products, services, and business models that differentiate the company in the marketplace.
Financial Performance:
Monitor and manage the financial performance of all departments, ensuring that growth initiatives contribute positively to the credit union’s bottom line.
Work closely with the COO and CFO to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that support the organization’s growth objectives.
Team Leadership and Development:
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across the assigned departments, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Develop and implement training and development programs to ensure that the team has the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve growth targets.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including members, team members, the community, business partners, CUSO’s ensuring that the organization’s growth strategies are well-supported and sustainable.
Represent or lead the team that represents the organization at industry events, conferences, and in public forums, positioning the company as a leader in the financial services sector.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish performance metrics to measure the success of growth initiatives.
Regularly report on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and improve outcomes.
Job Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary for this position.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree: Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field - required
MBA or other advanced degree - preferred
Experience:
10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing growth functions such as retail, sales, commercial services, consumer services, and outbound calling, preferably within a credit union or financial services environment.
Skills & Abilities:
Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and market expansion.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability.
Willing to travel.

The team member must be able to read and interpret documents or instruments, understand and/or follow complex written and oral instructions, make decisions, recall multiple policies or procedures, resolve problems or unique circumstances in a timely and efficient manner, be able to express oneself clearly and/or concisely, perform mathematical functions, and handle multiple, concurrent tasks.
