A prestigious law firm is currently seeking an experienced Professional Responsibility Counsel (PRC) to join its legal team. This key position involves collaborating closely with the firm's co-general Counsel to ensure compliance with professional conduct rules, manage conflicts of interest, and address professional responsibility matters. The PRC will play a vital role in evaluating and resolving potential ethical and liability issues and will have a significant impact on maintaining the firm’s reputation for ethical legal practices.Duties:Stay current with the American Bar Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct, as well as rules in jurisdictions where the firm operates, ensuring an understanding of jurisdictional differences.Review conflict screening reports and provide timely, clear evaluations, identifying potential issues and offering solutions.Assist attorneys in resolving conflicts and drafting/reviewing conflict waivers.Support the preparation and review of engagement letters for clients.Analyze the work histories of potential new hires to identify and resolve any conflict issues.Review and analyze outside counsel guidelines and requests for proposals.Collaborate with the co-General Counsel in preparing written responses to subpoenas and assisting with document production.Take on additional duties as directed by the co-general Counsel to further the firm’s professional responsibility objectives.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal practice or role involving professional responsibility issues, with preference given to those with experience in large law firms or litigation.Authorized to practice law in CA.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active Bar membership in CA.Skills:Strong knowledge of professional conduct rules and ethical guidelines.Excellent judgment and the ability to evaluate complex professional responsibility matters.Ability to manage conflicts and provide clear, actionable recommendations.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Job Location:Company info
