This includes the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and tuning of web servers. Additionally, the System Administrator troubleshoots server issues and provides technical support to the development team.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInstall, configure, and maintain J-Boss application server softwareMonitor system performance and troubleshoot issuesSupport and maintain security measures to protect the server from potential threatsCollaborate with developers to deploy applications on the serverExecute the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systemsTroubleshoot systems, providing failure analysis and recoverySupport system requests which include new servers, firewall changes, load balancer needs, and DNS requirementsProvide 24x7 Production environment support via an on-call rotationCreate and maintain documentation of architecture and other environmental areasInterface with 3rd party vendors on technical needs and/or triaging of issuesSupport disaster recovery and business continuity processes, exercises, and documentationBASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of demonstrated knowledge of Apache Web Server and Red Hat JBOSSDemonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise LinuxKnowledge of core networking concepts to support troubleshootingDemonstrated skill in collaborating professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to maintain a successful work environmentProficient at Microsoft office productsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProficiency in Linux shellBasic understanding of Oracle, SQL Server, or equivalent database technologyAbility to read application logs (primarily Java)Scripting or programming skillsExperience working with monitoring and management tools such as Dynatrace or RHQInsurance industry knowledgeEmployee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
