Description

Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist, in collaboration with the VP of Employee Engagement & Equity will implement human resources strategies that bring SHF's core values of integrity, equity, trust, inclusion, humility and innovation to life through employee engagement and a deep commitment to customer service. The Generalist will be responsible for building relationships with employees at all levels of the organization while supporting their Human Resources needs.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Position-Specific

Employee Relations

Responsible for providing support to managers and team members including administering employment policies and practices, researching and/or investigating team member concerns and making recommendations that effectively promote positive employee relations.Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints and workplace issues.Manage and conduct employee exit interviews and data analysis of employee turnover rates and patterns.Develop and implement employee relations programming and strategies for managers and employes.Administer and develop and administer guidance to management on employee relations policies and procedures.Responsible for mediating disputes, conducting workplace investigations and advising management on labor laws and company policies.Work with HR team to develop, revise and implement human resources policies and procedures.Maintains and monitors the coordination and support of performance management processes.Create and manage employee surveys and data management related to human resources, compensation and benefits.Lead and/or assist in policy development as needed to draft clear and comprehensive organizational policies. Work collaboratively with relevant collaborators and ability to research relevant regulations as needed.Responsible for delivering training programs for managers and employees on topics related to employee relations, conflict resolution and company policies.Ensure documentation of employee relations processes is available and understood by all.Benefits

Work with benefit providers to manage long-term, short-term disability cases as well as workers' compensation. Maintain appropriate records and communicate with managers on status of cases.Manage other employee absences, such as FMLA, Paid Family Leave and ADA.Work with managers as it relates to DOT standards for setting up drug testing of drivers.HRIS & Payroll System

Manage and maintain the HR information system providing accurate reporting of employee information.Properly maintain confidential employee personnel, medical and DOT files and respond to information requests as appropriate.Assist and serve as a backup for Payroll on a biweekly basis.Compensation

Serve as a backup for the SHF's compensation study with external vendor, including communication and documentation.Assist with the administration and updating of job description and market pricing.Compliance

Formulate, recommend, coach and counsel managers/employees on HR policies and procedures.Maintain SHF Employee Handbook and accompanying policies and procedures ensuring signed acknowledgements are on file.Maintain DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing compliance by keeping abreast of any changes to DOT regulations. Assist managers in the coordinate and setup of testing requirements p er policy and maintain accurate records.Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR and work with outside counsel to minimize exposure. Ensure all requirements are met timely and accurately.Ensure SHF is compliant with required labor law postings.Collect and analyze data related to compliance and trends related to SHF programming.Complete all Wisconsin, Federal and insurance required reports related to HR such as EEO and AA.HR Team Activities

Talent Acquisition

Assist in recruitment and facilitate the hiring of qualified applicants for open positions.Assist as needed with helping Hiring Managers understand skills and competencies required for openings.Partner with HR Team and outside sources to keep current on recruitment trends and best practices and implement sourcing strategies designed to ensure a diverse workforce.Employee Life Cycle

Act as a consultant and liaison to managers related to SHF policies and procedures.Lead employee engagement programming and promoting human resources programming.Schedule and conduct exit interviews.Employee Engagement & Culture

Proactively listen for opportunities to positively impact the organization.Partner with VP of Employee Engagement & Equity on development and support of organizational committees to ensure a healthy culture.Collaborate with VP of Employee Engagement & Equity and managers in determining appropriate training initiatives. Assist with coordination of external training and development of internal training.Assist with development and analysis of employee surveys with the goal of driving employee engagement.General HR Administrative Support

Assist with coordination of projects and events, including training and employee meetings.Provide backup as necessary to other HR team members during absences, or peak times.Skills & Abilities

Requirements

Required Education/Experience

High School Diploma or GED2 - 4 Years of experience in a Human Resources role.2 Years of experience with staff recruitment and/or benefits administration.1-2 Years experience with HRIS/Payroll Systems and applicant tracking software.Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Human Resources Administration or related field.SHRM or HRCI certification.Experience working with equity, diversity and inclusion programs.Extensive experience with employee relations, business law or mediation.Lived experience with the impacts of systemic racism or marginalization is a plus.Bilingual Spanish/English.

Salary Description

$54, 468-$65,382/year based on experience
