Senior AccountantPosition SummaryThe Senior Accountant reports directly to the Manager, Property Accounting. Responsibilities include support for all aspects of fuel and fuel hedge accounting.Essential ResponsibilitiesRecording of monthly journal entries related to fuel expense and hedgingReconciliation of fuel related balance sheet accountsInterface with independent auditors and business partnersNetwork with other departments to obtain needed information and educate other departments on financial relevance of their transactionsResponsible for weekly fuel accounting and audits, variance analysis of balance sheet accounts and related income statement accountsAssists in the preparation of related footnote and management discussion and analysis (MD&A) disclosures for quarterly and annual U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filingsResearch items of technical nature to determine proper accounting treatment and presentationEnsures internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasksSupervision of staff may be required at timesAssist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed with minimal supervisionOther duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experienceThree (3) years of accounting experienceProficient with the Microsoft Office suiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAvailable for occasional overnight travel (10%)Must pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Compensation:The base pay range for this position is between $64,000.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
