Position Purpose:The Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness plays a critical role in leading and coordinating data-informed decision-making across all areas of the College with a particular focus within academic affairs. Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, this position is responsible for leading a comprehensive institutional research, planning, and assessment agenda aligned with the College's strategic priorities and manages a team that supports the continuous effectiveness of the College.
Essential Functions:
Essential/Auxiliary DutiesDesign, develop and implement a comprehensive institutional research, planning, assessment, and effectiveness agenda aligned with the college's strategic priorities and data reporting requirements.Oversee the collection, validation, and maintenance of institutional data from various sources, including student information systems, faculty records, and external data repositories.Lead the design and execution of surveys, studies, and analyses to support institutional assessment, program review, and improvement initiatives.Collaborate with academic and administrative units to identify benchmarks for measuring institutional effectiveness and student successServe on or participate on various campus committees, including but not limited to campus governance councils, Institutional Effectiveness Commission (IEC) and Academic Program Review Committee (APROC).Provide timely and accurate reports and visualizations to support decision-making at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, academic departments, and committees.Conduct trend analysis to anticipate future enrollment, retention, and demographic shifts, informing strategic enrollment management and resource allocation decisions.Supervise and mentor departmental staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvementStay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and technologies in institutional research, integrated planning, assessment, and higher education policy, advocating for innovative approaches to ongoing institutional effectivenessRepresent the college at conferences, state-wide meetings, workshops, and professional associations, sharing insights and contributing to the advancement of institutional research within the higher education community and sharing this information to the campus community.Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.Other duties as assigned.Equity and Inclusion
