HR Generalist (Human Resources Generalist)

We are looking for an HR Generalist.The HR Generalist will oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources Department and will manage a wide range of tasks, covering many aspects of day-to-day HR processes, including employee relations, onboarding, data entry HRIS system updates, leaves, benefits, report generation, and compliance. The successful candidate is a collaborative team member who will continually strive to move VLS Environmental Solutions forward. This position will be onsite. Local candidates are preferred.ResponsibilitiesThe Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR-related tasks, including but not limited to:Coordinate various new hire processes such as I-9 compliance, background checks, and drug screenConducting new hire orientations and onboarding processes ensuring completion of necessary documentationAssist in talent acquisition and recruitmentUpdate and maintain the HRIS system, ensuring accurate processing of employee data and transactionsAssist with FMLA claimsSupport and manage employee relations issues by facilitating conflict resolution and addressing employment-related inquiries, escalating complex matters as neededFacilitate and/or participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and human resources investigationsTrack and document compliance with required training, including ethics, and anti-harassment programsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain complianceConduct research and analyze data for assigned projectsProcess forms and generate documents such as offer letters, and handle DocuSignEnsure job descriptions are up to date through regular reviews and revisionsBilingual in English and SpanishPerforming other related duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum of bachelor's in human resources, business administration, or related field requiredAt least four years of proven experience as a human resources generalist or similar roleThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretionProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systemsPHR, SPHR, SHRM or other HR certifications.Bilingual in Spanish RequiredAt VLS our employees are the core of our business.
