If you share our clear vision to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking an FCC Designer, reporting directly to the hiring manager to join our Mechanical team based in Houston, Texas, USA.

Job Purpose:

The designer is responsible for the execution of the mechanical portion of the scope for domestic and international proprietary equipment technology projects. This position has overall accountability to the Mechanical Department Manager, FCC Mechanical Group Leader, and the Design Lead for assigned project.

Job Duties:Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data and development of project design basis.Stay actively involved in all phases of the design process from designing tower attachments to creating "as-built" drawings.Collaborate with other designers, engineers and project managers to ensure all design issues are resolved within project schedule.Prepare tower internal 2D drawings.Create parametric equipment 3D models in SolidWorks including sheet metal parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.Produce fabrication grade flat pattern detail drawings to be used on CNC machine.Generate bill of materials for all applicable equipment.Do interference checks on all equipment to ensure no issues arise during the fabrication and installation stages.Check all models and drawings to ensure they are issued with no errors.Implement innovation in design to help reduce cost and improve design.Work on both complex revamp and grassroots projects.Travel to project sites when necessary to ensure designed equipment is installed according to company standards.Maintain compliance with all equipment design standards.Ensure conformance to applicable government regulations, engineering codes and standards as well as company QA system, policies, and procedures.Identification, submittal and resolution of scope changes and deviations.Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.Provide senior level design support by answering technical questions and requests.Help resolve fabrication and field issues.Skills/Qualifications:

The position requires a minimum of 5 years of total mechanical design experience (including sheet-metal), strong leadership and inter-personnel skills. This individual must be able to anticipate problems, understand fabrication processes to implement in design and provide proactive solutions in line with the organizations objectives at a senior level. The individual must also be able to implement advanced design practices that will make fabrication and field installation safer and more cost-effective. Must be able to work efficiently and with little direction. Software knowledge should include AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office applications.
