THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION THAT REQUIRES 50-60% TRAVEL TO SITES ACROSS THE US AND MEXICO AND CHINA.

Job Summary:
The Global Engineering Manager - Extrusion ("GEME") will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our portfolio of extrusion products and services to include our systems and extrusion processes across our global manufacturing facilities. This role involves developing and implementing equipment selection, technologies, best practices, ensuring product quality, enhancing efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in micro extrusion technologies that support the development of interventional catheters and the like, a deep understanding of materials science, and a passion for global collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:Extrusion Equipment Selection and Location: Identify and procure the appropriate systems, technologies, and infrastructure to ensure that Aptyx' capabilities are the best in the industry and aligned with the Aptyx corporate strategy.Process Optimization:
Analyze, develop, and implement extrusion processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across global manufacturing sites.Technical Support:
Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for extrusion-related issues, collaborating with local engineering teams to resolve problems and implement solutions.Quality Assurance:
Ensure that extrusion processes comply with company quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions as needed.Continuous Improvement:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance extrusion processes, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.Training and Development:
Develop and deliver training programs for local engineering and production teams on best practices, new technologies, and safety procedures related to extrusion processes.Project Management:
Manage and coordinate extrusion-related projects, including new equipment installations, process upgrades, and product launches. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet performance specifications.Innovation:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in extrusion technology and materials. Propose and implement innovative solutions to maintain a competitive edge.Global Collaboration:
Work closely with global teams, including R&D, production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and consistency in extrusion processes across all manufacturing sites.Data Analysis:
Utilize data analytics to monitor and improve extrusion process performance. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical device extrusion engineering developing interventional catheters and components for interventional catheters, preferably in a global manufacturing environment.Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of extrusion processes, equipment, and materials. Proficiency in CAD software, process simulation tools, and data analysis.Problem-Solving:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.Communication:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional team environment.Travel:
Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% of the time to support global manufacturing sites.Benefits:
