The Refugee Health Screening Program of Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC) is seeking an
Administrative Specialist II
to join our vibrant and diverse team at our Downtown Public Health center in the delivery of various health services to the county's most vulnerable people.
Background
The Refugee Health Screening Clinic provides a health screening to all newly arrived refugees and anyone granted asylum in King County. The health screening includes an overseas health records review, blood work, immunizations, a high-level mental health screening and referral to ongoing primary and dental care.
The Refugee Health Screening team members work closely together to offer the highest level of service and care to newly arrived refugees and anyone granted asylum in King County. We have a unique opportunity to connect with every refugee resettling in King County and to ensure that they are connected to ongoing care and community resources. The Administrative Specialist II will work closely with other admin and medical providers on the team to ensure that every client receives the highest level of care and service.

emporary opportunity. Term-Limited Temporary positions are "at-will" positions but are eligible for benefits. This TLT is currently anticipated to last 12 months.
However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. As a result, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on those decisions. The County and the Department continue to work to secure long term funding sources.
This vacancy can also be filled as a Special Duty opportunity. For Special Duty Assignment interest, you must be a Career Service, Career Service Exempt or other regular (non-temporary) employee in King County who has completed their initial County probation. Job Duties
Greet patients, both in person and on the phone, and electronically complete registration and check-in.Schedule patient visits with appropriate providers and programs.Data collection and entry including client referrals.Solicit financial and insurance information, verify insurance coverage, calculate charges, and collect payments when appropriate.Identify when patient needs triage by healthcare staff, and quickly identify potential emergencies.Coordinate patient and information flow, while maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with Federal HIPAA laws.Utilize a variety of computer programs, including Epic, Provider One, and Microsoft Office.Work closely with medical interpreters by phone and in person, as needed.Verify that encounters and paperwork are correct to ensure accuracy.Perform general office duties such as copying and faxing.Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
