Job Description:
The Airline's Employee Communications team is growing as they build a world class internal communications organization that keeps people at the forefront of all we do. We're looking for strategic, collaborative communicators who like to help create new processes and systems, while using innovative tools and tactics that inform, inspire and mobilize the brand's 70,000+ employees to help us be our best for our customers.
We're looking for a communications professional to join the Employee Communications team to create and implement effective strategies that embody world-class employee communications, support the brand's enviable culture and help the company exceed its business goals on our journey to better connect the world.
Reporting to the General Manager, Global Communications - this critical thinker excels at understanding operational policies, anticipating communication needs and effectively developing, writing and executing communications strategy. Able to work collaboratively with peers and leaders as well as cross-functionally on a variety of employee communications topics and projects ranging from safety to employee policies. This role will manage daily operational communications needs for the In-Flight Communications division focusing on delivering communications that protect our culture and strong internal brand reputation while also creating communications that inform, inspire and mobilize the airline's employees to exceed goals and prove to our customers why no one better connects the world.
Responsibilities:Manage creation and delivery of strategic communications plans and tactics for operational topics for the In-Flight Communications divisionPartner with leaders and stakeholders across the In-Flight Communications operation to ensure communications plans are well-thought out and executed, with employees' needs top of mindFoster deep understanding of operational complexitySupport a matrixed team structure that balances the priorities of the division or stakeholder with the brand's corporate objectives, aligning both strategy and tone so that we are one team communicating with one voice. Ensure alignment across divisions for operational initiatives.Serve as strategic communications counsel for leaders and stakeholders using thought leadership and operational expertise to develop strategic communications.Develop and implement employee communications campaigns in collaboration with divisional partners.Stay current on leading trends and current events to deliver practical and insightful communication recommendations and thought leadership.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related fieldAirline operations experience preferredMinimum five years of INTERNAL communications experience requiredExperience working directly with multiple leaders requiredStrong collaboration skillsExcellent writing skills, with the ability to think and communicate clearly and create a concise and well-written plan and products.Experience developing creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challengesStrong analytical skills preferredAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of management and frontline employee groupsWorking level of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook is essentialMust have a high degree of initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines.Must be flexible in dealing with changing priorities and deadlines.
