Unit Med/Surg 6S General MedSurg# Beds: 32- Nurse:Patient Ratios: typical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at timesRatios would be adjusted down for higher acuity patientsAre RNs required to titrate drips?: heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unitCharge Nurse/House Supervisor?: BothManagers are in house M-F business hours, starting at 3pm M-F and all weekend there is an adult house supervisorEducator and manager for each unitAdditional Details
50 mile Radius RuleFingerprint requirement - must be processed in Jackson or Grenada MS the week prior to start or allow 10-14 days for remote processMust be flexible with holiday RTOManager will rotate coverage to ensure that everyone gets some time off if requestedFamiliarity with EPIC charting systems
