Georgia-Pacific's Software Engineering & Integration team (SE&I) is seeking a Solution Architect to join the team in Atlanta, GA. You will work with a global team of contributed motivated solution architects as part of a Solution Architecture organization who partners with SE&I engineers and architects across the company to do the following: Define engineering standards which will help engineers focus on their comparative advantage using division of labor to drive superior returns by delivering technology solutions. Develop application technical/architecture roadmaps to proactively rationalize our legacy technology and deliver transformational change. And working with multifunctional teams to conduct solutioning services to generate reference architectures of proven out architectural solutions to solve business problems.

GP's Software Engineering & Integration team's core competency is designing, building, delivering, and maintaining custom software solutions. We recently initiated our transformation journey, creating functions and capabilities that enable engineers to have major impacts on GP's business performance. We seek to build functionality once, so engineers are encouraged to re-use their peers' work and modify then scale it to meet new use cases. We focus on delivering profitable business outcomes by partnering with business analysts, delivery leaders, and quality engineers to build the right solution at the right speed.
What You Will DoParticipate and self-drive thought leadership in overall application and integration strategy efforts while partnering with IT leaders across the company.Define a menu of tech-stacks and engineering standards while understanding how cloud architecture impacts cost to run.Understanding the architecture of our applications; developing roadmaps that proactively addresses technical debt and modernizing our infrastructure that is aligned with our engineering standards.Conduct experiments to prove out modern technical solutions.Develop reference architecture, design patterns, and boilerplates that provide guidelines and best practices for engineers, thus, freeing them to focus on delivering value.Partner with the engineers by helping them implement these best practices and drive standardization of technologies and tools to achieve enterprise simplification and re-use.Participate in the talent selection process for architects within the team.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Integration Patterns and Strategies : Understanding various integration patterns such as point-to-point, hub-and-spoke, publish-subscribe, Streaming are crucial (NATS, Kafka etc). Familiarity with strategies and implementation of API-led connectivity, event-driven architecture, understanding of microservices principal.Middleware and Integration Platforms : Knowledge of middleware solutions and integration platforms like MuleSoft, SAP CPI and any other toolsAPI Management : Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing APIs. This includes understanding RESTful and SOAP services, API gateways, and security protocols. Well versed with API Management tool like Kong, MuleSoft, Apigee and/or any other.Cloud Integration : Familiarity with cloud services and platforms such as AWS, Azure, ERP platforms (SAP, Infor, Salesforce®). This includes experience with enterprise Data Integration technologies including ETL, SQL, XSLT, XML, ANSI X12 EDI, OAGIS, and JSONEDI Standards and Protocols : Should be well-versed in EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and others. Understanding of EDI platform like Sterling Commerce, OpenText and/or other platformSecurity : Understanding security best practices and compliance requirements is critical. This includes knowledge of encryption, authentication, authorization, and data privacy. Working understanding of security standards including SAML, XACML, MASSL, OATH, WSTrust, OAUTH, OpenID Connect.What Will Put You Ahead
Industrial (Edge) integration : Familiarity with various industrial protocols used for communication and data transfer in industrial environments. These include MQTT, OPC-UA, MODBUS, and others.Coding Language : Expert level experience in GoLang.Experience in agile methodologies.
