Travel"Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30).**Period/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Period includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS**

IU Health University and Methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment. Please only submit candidates that are okay with these requirements.

Traveler must have IN/Compact license in hand or have submitted their fingerprint application package for their license to apply for this position.

Cerner Experience Required

First Time Travelers Accepted; ; No Travel Pairs Working Together On This Unit

*** Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

*** Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need

*** Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.

Certification Requirements: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH

Skillset Requirements: Minimum 2 Year Experience, Surgical Intensive Care Unit Experience, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Continuous IV sedation, Care of Ventilated Patient, Must have experience in Trauma Designated facility, Cerner, and IV Starts

Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals

Staffing Ratios: 1:2-3

Unit Information: Provides critical care services to a variety of patients who have suffered injuries or incurred illnesses requiring surgical intervention. Trauma can include gunshot wounds, blunt traumatic injury from construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents, farming and boating accidents. Various physician services include surgical intensivists, medical intensivist, nephrology, ENT, orthopedics, general surgery focusing on abdominal injuries and other internal injuries."About LanceSoft
