We're also certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Care Medical Home and a Behavioral Health Home.Position SummaryThe individual in this position will be responsible for providing clinical dental services and preventive dental care in our dental health centers.Required QualificationsRequires graduation from an accredited school of dentistry; possession of valid D.D.S./D.M.D. License to practice in the State of California.Current DEA, CPR, and other certificates; meets all continuing education requirements.Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of general and pediatric dentistry.Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.Ability to apply modern methods and practices of general four-handed dentistry.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision for patient care and follow-up, and with high productivity.Fluency in additional languages preferred.Commitment to HIPAA and ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality.Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.Assist and support the Center/Department/Program to meet standards of High Reliability.Travel as needed.Must have valid driver's license and insurable driving record.Essential ResponsibilitiesExamines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines;Records patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the patient's dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided;Performs dental treatment and treats oral diseases; refers cases when appropriate; confers with physicians regarding medical/dental problems.Educates patients and parents in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention.Attends regular staff meetings.Keeps clinical and other records regarding services provided, supplies and materials used.Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services provided consistent with the organization's policies and the standards of the dental profession.Assists in the provision of technical assistance and health education to the community as requested.Assists in the coordination and integration of the organization's dental programs and services with other organization programs and services for the welfare of the company's patients.Responsible for personal full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, work place safety, public health and confidentiality.Other duties as assigned by the Dental Director.BenefitsSuccessful candidate will receive regionally competitive salary, above average health benefits at reduced costs, company paid life insurance & long-term disability insurance, additional voluntary retirement plan with company match and no vesting schedule requirement.Paid bereavement and jury duty leave11 paid holidays per yearPaid time offPaid sick leaveFlexible Spending ProgramCompany paid malpractice insurance for all providersProfessional development hours offered annuallyPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe work environment is characteristic of a medical clinic environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client's use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care.
